Mobile Vehicle Inspection Reports

We take the hassle out of car rego by providing mobile safety checks required for registering cars, motorbikes, trucks up to 4.5GVm, trailers and caravans in NSW.

There’s no need to sit stuck on the side of the road or in your driveway, our fully equipped mobile service vehicles are ready to get you moving quickly. Some of the most common emergency callouts we respond to are flat batteries, starter motor problems, faulty alternators, blown fuses and faulty or loose wiring connections.

Don’t risk driving an unregistered car to your nearest mechanic, we can come to you at your home or workplace and sort out your pink slip on the spot. If there is an issue, we can repair most mechanical and auto electrical issues and get you passed ready for rego. *Our mobile pink slips start from just $99 including the callout fee, provided you don’t need repairs.

What's involved in your Rego Check?

In line with NSW Government regulations your registration inspection includes the following safety checks:

Brakes

Your braking system (including your handbrake) will be tested for efficiency and we’ll do a visual check of brake pad wear.

Tyres & Wheels

The legal tread depth states there must be a minimum of 1.5mm of tread. We’ll also inspect your tyres for any signs of damage or wear.

Lights & Electrics

We will carry out visual inspections of your headlights, taillights, brake lights, hazard lights, horn and your blinkers or indicators.

Safety

A visual and function inspection of all seat belts will be carried out. Please note that seatbelts must be completely intact and cannot be frayed. The airbag warning light (SRS light), and warning lights will be checked for faults.

Windscreen

Your windscreen will be checked for damage in the driver’s line of site and we’ll ensure your windscreen washer and wiper system is operational.

Steering

For your steering and suspension, we’ll be checking for any wear in components, and play in the steering wheel.

Bodywork

Things like structural integrity will be checked and we’ll do a visual inspection of rust and check for missing parts.

Caravans & Trailers:

Additional checks like functionality of electric braking systems, break-away systems, tow bars, safety chains and wiring may be required for trailers and caravans.

What happens if my car fails the safety check?

Passing or failing your rego check happens instantly, and most of the time we can fix small issues on the spot. Our technicians are dual qualified, and our service vehicles carry a great range of spares that might be needed to get your vehicle safe and roadworthy. In most cases we’ll quote you on the parts, get them installed, retest and pass your vehicle ready for registration all in the one painless visit.

Registering a Vehicle in NSW

CTP INSURANCE

In NSW, all on road vehicles except trailers and caravans must have a ‘greenslip’ or compulsory Third Party Insurance (CTP Greenslip) Find a NSW Government Greenslip Calculator here

Vehicle Safety Inspection (Pink Slip)

In NSW most motorised vehicles to be used on public roads require a ‘safety inspection report’ or ‘roadworthy inspection’.  If your vehicle was manufactured less than 5 years ago, you may be exempt from needing the safety inspection report commonly known as a pink slip.

Check the NSW government website for more information

Registration Payment

Once you have both your Greenslip (CTP Insurance) and your Pink Slip (passed safety inspection report) you can pay your registration online in most cases.

HOW WE CAN HELP

If you need a pink slip and don’t have time to be without your car, that’s where we come in. We can provide the mobile service at your home or workplace at a time that suits you. We charge a small callout fee for the service.

Registration timeframes

If you don’t renew your registration by the due date, you can be heavily fined for driving on Australian roads and your insurance won’t cover you in the case of any type of accident, at fault or not. If you’re busy at the date of your registration expiry or travelling, you can register your vehicle up to 3 months in advance of the date, or up to 3 months after. If you leave your vehicle unregistered from more than 3 months after the expiration date, you will have to undergo a much more thorough and expensive safety check commonly referred to as a blue slip. We don’t provide blue slips at this time and thoroughly encourage you to keep your registration up to date.
